What we collect: almost nothing.
Last updated May 14, 2026.
1. The short version
AWOL is self-custodial. We don't run accounts, we don't see your keys, and we can't read your files. There's no marketing pixel on this site, no analytics SDK in the extension, and no telemetry beacon in any binary we ship.
2. What we never receive
- Your mnemonic, private keys, or any material derived from them.
- The plaintext contents of any file you put in AWOL Drive.
- Your email, phone number, real name, or government ID.
- The list of accounts or chains you've enabled.
3. What we do receive
- Drive shards (ciphertext only): when you upload a file to AWOL Drive, encrypted shards transit our lighthouse server for redundancy. We never have the keys to decrypt them.
- Public chain transactions: when you sign and broadcast a transaction, the public blockchain — not AWOL — records it. Your wallet address is associated with that transaction on-chain, as with any wallet.
- Username registrations: minting a name writes a public
record to the AWOL chain. The mapping
name → walletis public by design. - Server logs: our lighthouse and API edge log request timestamps, IPs, and status codes for 30 days for abuse-mitigation purposes. We never sell or share them.
4. Cookies on awol.bio
This marketing site uses one localStorage key — awol-theme —
to remember your light/dark preference. No tracking cookies. No third-party
scripts.
5. Your rights
Because we don't hold an account for you, there's nothing to export, correct, or delete. To stop using AWOL, uninstall the app — that's it. We have no record of you to lose.
